Some musings between the TJ and the JK.

Kinja'd!!!

(not the TJ I am buying)

So to start off, it drives and runs relatively nice for having a budget lift and tires.

That being said;

The JK is definitely wider.

I had forgotten how much I hate death wobble.

The JK feels like a race car compared to the TJ.

I had forgotten what a real clutch feels like (JK pedal is like feathers, Hated it since I bought it).

I will be in need of lots of money to build my caged, stretched, V8, D60, on 37’s...

Here’s my I6 and V6

Mine’s a 97 with 35s. I had it for 2 years now. My girls love it.

The ride is rough and it’s noisy but it’s fun. It can keep up with traffic too.

Post some pics of your project.

Im in the process of turning my 14 JK Unlimited into an 02 TJ.

Why would I do this one might ask?

Because I want a bad ass trail rig, and its severely hard to do that when you’re trail rig is a $40,000 rig with a payment on it.

People badmouth the TJ, but I always liked driving it...well as a trail rig, not as a daily. but yeah, its hard to remember what a small wrangler was like before the JK, the TJ is WAY smaller.

Can you please explain turning your jk into a tj?

You mean replace it with the tj. Or actually making a tj with a jk?

I can understand using a cheaper jeep to trail, than one with payments. That's why I have a 97.

ive driven yj's which feel like they were made 50 years ago. ive driven jk's which feel like they were made 15 years ago. I think the tj is the true missing link for that sweet 25 year vintage feel. mine would have to be an LJ tho
